Women Empowerment?

It’s a pleasant walk to the train, provided you are a fitness freak. For me, it is nothing sort of a daily bother. The 1 mile stretch goes through a university and New England architecture styled houses. It’s pretty nice, provided you can walk.

What makes a great morning? A pretty girl smiling as she walks past you. But wait, she is on heels and she just effortlessly glided past me. The male chauvinist, macho, high school middle distance running qualifier inside me said this was unacceptable. So I accelerated, the sneakers I ditched my formal shoes for coming to it’s full potential. I smiled, or sneered or grimaced as the sprint was taking it’s toll on me, as I went past her again, triumphantly.
After a couple of steps, I could feel a shooting pain in my legs. Maybe I have outdone myself this time. I spot a park bench and park my fat lazy ass back on it, and slowly massage my legs as the pretty girl smiles and walks past me-again. Ah well, she was so pretty. And well built. Apparently she must be a fitness freak. There is no shame in eating the humble pie, and enjoy the happiness that a beautiful smile brings.
Our great RaGa’s slogan came to my mind-wimmen empowerment. Apparently I am the one needing empowerment here.
P.S: 2 middle aged ladies on heels smiled and walked past me. I am officially at the worst shape of my life.
